Hurricane Charley made landfall near Port Charlotte, FL on August 13, 2004 as a 150 mph Category 4 hurricane. Charley made his way across the state, through Orlando, before passing out of the state near New Smyrna Beach as a Category 1 Hurricane. The devastation to Florida and its residents will never be forgotten.
